Zone Maintenance

Zone Maintenance responds to most departmental campus requests. Zone Maintenance—made up of skilled electricians, carpenters, and plumbers—responds to requests to services plumbing issues in sinks and restrooms, hang objects on walls, and perform other minor repairs that are not directly related to construction projects.

Water Plant

Water Plant team members work seven days a week to ensure the safety and reliability of the water system that serves the majority of our campus.

Steam Plant

Steam Plant team members work around the clock—24/7, 365 days a year—to ensure the safety and efficiency of this valuable asset of the University. Our Steam Plant provides heat and hot water across campus.

Landscape Services

Landscape Services team members keep our grounds beautiful and healthy, through sustainable turf management, arboriculture, and the use of native plants and pollinator gardens. We are proud to hold the titles of "Tree Campus USA" and "Bee Campus USA". Landscape Services also houses our Moving, Recycling, Compost, Trash, & Masonry divisions and is responsible for snow removal.

Preventive Maintenance

Preventive Maintenance team members maintain HVAC and mechanical equipment across campus, maintain and repair roofs, change filters, and manage warranties and asset inventories. Their services are vital in extending the life of costly motors and equipment, which reduces costs overall.

Paint

The Paint Shop's skilled painters work on both maintenance and renovations and are responsible for interior and exterior painting, drywall finishing, graffiti removal, and more.

Motor Pool

Motor Pool is responsible for Motor Fleet rental vehicles and state-owned vehicles permanently assigned to departments across campus. Our skilled Motor Pool team members perform mechanical work, body work, and painting on these vehicles and on state-owned equipment such as lawn mowers, weed eaters, tractors, and more.

Mechanical Shop

Mechanical team members work on underground pipes, delivering water and steam to campus and carrying sanitary sewer from campus. Their welding skills are also used for fabricating parts for vehicles and special projects, and more.

Locks and Electronic Access Hardware

Lock Shop team members are responsible for making keys; installing, maintaining and repairing locks and other door hardware; and maintaining the complex database of locks and keys for the University. This team also manages electronic access hardware at the University.

HVAC and Controls

HVAC and computer-controlled heating and air conditioning team members excel at providing comfortable temperatures and humidity levels, all while improving the University's energy efficiency. HVAC team members repair and adjust equipment, and Controls team members program the computer operations that open and close valves and gateways that mix and exchange air.
